Mr. Holmes graduated from the Harrisburg Area Community College in May 1997, The Pennsylvania State University in May 1999 and Widener University School of Law in May 2004. Mr. Holmes is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and has been practicing workers’ compensation law since 2005. Mr. Holmes’s practice also includes claims under the Heart & Lung Act.

Mr. Holmes has over 26 years of experience when considering his employment with the PA BWC from December 1993 to April 2005. Mr. Holmes worked as an administrative assistant/legal assistant on the BWC’s Helpline answering daily WC questions from all stakeholders (including attorneys) from December 1993 to July 1999; he managed the Petitions Section from July 1999 to June 2002; and was the Claims Management Division Chief from June 2002 to April 2005 where he was responsible for processing all claims made under the WC Act and as well as monitor industry performance with respect to statutory and regulatory compliance. Mr. Holmes met with stakeholders routinely and also spoke at BWC Annual Conferences and provided training upon request.

Mr. Holmes left the BWC after receiving his law degree to join The Chartwell Law Offices in May 2005. Mr. Holmes represented defendants in WC litigation including insurance companies, TPA’s, municipal employers and self-insured employers. Mr. Holmes maintained client relationships by providing training and participating in file reviews. Mr. Holmes worked daily with claims adjusters or other interested parties to make recommendations before claims became litigated. Mr. Holmes was promoted to partner in January 2011 and continued in that capacity until starting Law Office of Nathaniel M. Holmes LLC in November 2016.
